Open Positions

Medical Assistant

East Hill Medical Center is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our growing organization. This position is primarily located in our Adult Medicine department, but the candidate should be comfortable floating to all our medical offices (Summit Pediatrics, Duckett Family Medicine and Inner Wellness). Our Medical Assistant will assist providers and nurses with the scheduling and flow of patients and patient’s family in the clinical areas. The schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday and hours to be determined. Our Adult Medicine office is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, so the shift would fall within those hours. 9 observed holidays off, weekends off, and 2 additional floating holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting and monitoring patient flow in the front and back offices

  • Responsible for performing various aspects of patient visit

  • Reviews health record with the patient

  • Obtains vital signs and patient data

  • Initiates the follow-up of specialty care referrals and services per policy

  • Assists patients with the completion of medical forms

  • Responsible for performing important medical tests and procedures on patients, as directed by practitioner within the MA scope.

  • Performs laboratory specimen collection, preparation and labeling

  • Performs ECG’s

  • Responsible for obtaining medical record releases, and ensuring the processing of medical record

Receptionist

  • Full time receptionist position for medical office (Departments: Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, Inner Wellness and Dental).

  • Monday - Thursday (4) 10 hour shifts from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or Monday-Friday (5) 8 hour shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Floats between all offices as needed and directed by the Practice Manager or designee.

  • Provide excellent patient service.

  • Greet patients in a friendly and welcoming manner both in person and on the phone.

  • Promptly and professionally answers all incoming, multi-line, telephone calls ensuring to introduce yourself and the practice. Screen and direct calls appropriately.

  • Monitors provider’s schedules to ensure it is efficiently being booked.

  • Schedules and reschedules patient appointments over the telephone, in-person and follow up visits at the end of the initial patient appointment.

  • Assist patients in scheduling appointments and maintaining records and accounts.

  • Assisting patients in getting rostered to our practice as their Primary Care Provider (PCP) if they are not assigned to East Hill.

  • Verifying insurance prior to their appointment.

Certified Dental Assistant

East Hill Medical Center is seeking a full-time, certified Dental Assistant. This candidate needs to be comfortable assisting the Dentist with materials and instruments that are needed for procedures; greeting patients and reviewing their personal, family, social, and health history; taking bitewing and panoramic x-rays; sterilizing instruments and sanitizing patient care areas; stocking tracking materials and equipment. Will also act as back-up reception.

We offer competitive wages, paid time off (including PTO, 9 Observed Holidays, and 2 Floating Holidays). We also offer medical, dental, and vision coverage (eligible the first of the month after hire). East Hill Medical Center matches up to 4% of employee’s contribution.

Dentist

East Hill Medical Center is seeking a full-time dentist for our growing organization. We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in downtown Auburn, NY. We have a brand new office, state of the art equipment, choice of products and will purchase the tools you need for seeing patients. Job Description:

  • Examines patients to diagnose and treat oral and dental conditions.

  • Provides routine care of patients including but not limited to; Examination of head and neck; administration of medication; periodontal therapy; x-rays and follow up maintenance checks.

  • Management of emergencies including but not limited to; control of acute hemorrhages, anaphylaxis, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest and seizures.

  • Diagnosis, treatment and management for illnesses and diseases that present in the office.

  • Conducts procedures related to routine care or to symptoms exhibited during office visit including but not limited to; Restorations, non-surgical extractions, pulpotomy, dentures, and incision and drainage.

LPN

East Hill Medical Center is seeking a full-time LPN for our growing organization. The candidate will be based in one of our medical offices (Adult Medicine, Duckett Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or Inner Wellness), and may be required to float as needed for coverage. Hours are Monday-Friday various hours 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts available. Some evenings may apply based on the provider schedule. The ideal candidate will be compassionate and strive to provide an exceptional experience for each patient, every time. We offer 9 paid holidays, floating holidays, and no weekends!

Requirements:

  • Graduated from an accredited school of Practice Nursing.

  • Valid NYS license to practice practical nursing.

  • 1+ years’ experience as an LPN, preferred (New grads encouraged to apply!)

  • Medent experience, is a plus.

  • Prior experience working in an office setting with behavioral health, pediatric and adult patients, preferred.

  • Current BLS Certificate, required.

  • Current Infection Control Certificate, required.

Therapist/Counselor

The Licensed therapist will provide psycho-therapy and treatment planning to patients of East Hill who are referred by his/her physician, APP or who self-refer to the behavioral health program.

  • Types of patients served include children, adolescents, young adults, mature adults and geriatrics; from a variety of cultural backgrounds, ethnicities and socioeconomic levels. Meeting the needs of individual patients frequently requires family interventions and referrals to community supports as well as coordination and collaboration with both internal and external resources.

  • Meets one on one with patient and/or family as needed; evaluate and assess patient’s mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive and developmental disorders within a psychosocial framework.

  • Recommend and deliver appropriate evidenced based therapeutic intervention including individual and group psychotherapy and referral to services; consultation and coordination of care with schools and outside providers as needed.

  • Provide crisis response to patients as indicated, assist with providing resources for food/housing/safety concerns in the Cayuga County area.

  • Document patient visits on the electronic medical record using approved templates. Submit billing as appropriate to care provided.

  • Formulate a comprehensive treatment plan based on mental health diagnoses and goals for treatment; make referrals and send for records.

Experience: Supervision requirement can be met for licensure.

License: LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT (One of those licenses would be required)

Billing Specialist

Responsible for billing activities with Medicaid, Medicare, 3rd party insurances, and patients for primary care, behavioral health, and dental for a Federally Qualified Health Care Center (FQHC). This work includes, but is not limited to, claim submission and follow-up, payment receipt and processing, and communicating with patients, payers, external organizations and internal departments. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the completion of various complex invoicing of funding mechanisms including medical and governmental billing to ensure an accurate and complete general ledger and optimal cash flow. The Billing Specialist is also responsible to do research as needed, and stay up-to-date on changes in the medical billing field.

  • Entry and review of daily charges, modifiers and services.

  • Receive and initiate patient calls to resolve billing or payment concerns.

  • Research, review and communicate with insurance carriers regarding open accounts receivables and denials.

  • Review HCFAs, C4s electronic edits for submission to insurance companies.

  • Review patient insurance eligibility.

  • Work with personal information and maintain patient confidentiality

  • Review, research and initiate collection procedures.

  • Maintain and balance invoices to supporting documentation to ensure accurate and timely billing processes on a monthly basis.

  • Assist in the maintenance of controls over accounting systems and records maintenance invoiced in the billing function.

  • Answer billing questions from program directors, and third party payers as required.

  • Provide regular updates to the Revenue Cycle Manager on billing issues and the financial information needed to support his/her daily organizational decision-making.

  • Treats all patients, peers, providers and staff in a positive, professional manner.

  • Demonstrates efficient/productive use of work time.

Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing marketing and communications efforts, including digital advertising, earned media, online presence, and internal messaging.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies and campaigns for increasing awareness of services.

  • Create visual and written content for digital and print advertisements, news releases, websites, and social media.

  • Build relationships and lead outreach efforts with local partners, including media.

  • Provide ongoing support to internal teams by developing communications plans, and creating documents, presentations, brochures, posters, advertising, etc. as needed.

  • Monitor internal capacity to shift efforts to promote patient retention and growth.

  • Take photos and record videos for online content and printed materials.

  • Maintain brand stewardship and contribute through storytelling and strategic projects.

  • Monitor and improve internal and external communication platforms/tools. Update documents to improve readability and develop print and digital content for internal and external audiences.

  • Maintain knowledge of modern techniques for marketing, including digital advertising, SEO/website content management systems, and social media.

  • Conduct surveys and other research strategies for effectively communicating information and track outreach efforts’ impact to gauge effectiveness.
